yellow to Janet

I've had this pretty yellow env. forever, so finally decided to part with it and send to Janet.

Was originally going to try bleach on it, but then decided on a white name (sharpie), as I didn't want to mess with bleach.
The white looked too bland, so I added a red shadow. I love the red heart stamp with it! Did the address in teal, as on the flap there was red and teal lines.

So mad, as I forgot to take a pic of the insert. Nothing big, just an abstract design of a failed watercolor piece. On one side I turned to abstract part into her name. Maybe she'll oblige me with a pic once she gets it!

Piano themed

So, these next few were definite "labors of love", as they took SO much time to create!
I love the idea, but 1) am not a fan of cutting, and 2) painting wasn't a better solution.

First got this idea for my 100 Days of Neon challenge on IG. Saw a b/w version on Pinterest and decided to add color to mine. Can be easily created digitally.

For Janet's I did the whole cut & paste thing. The main challenge, was trying to place the neon color keys in the right spots. That, and the layered look, as the neon keys looked weird on top of the white ones til I added another layer or color. Maybe cutting out part of the white keys to have the neon ones fit better?
Wish I had either printed her name or did it smaller.

This one went to Jean (all 3 got the same insert but altered versions/colors).
I painted on the white keys this time and cut out the neon ones (for a flatter look). Used white india ink and such a pain, as I had to keep adding layers (and then I kept messing up).

No room for her name on the front, so I put it on the back (which I kinda like! -- #happyaccident!)

I also had a mishap with my ink! (leave it to me...one of the many times I've spilt in my art room. 😖)
So, tried to make it into an abstract design. Kinda wish I had added color to match the front.

*Jean really liked it though, as I got an email from her:

This to Shannon is way prettier in-person. Decided to do something different. Was originally going to do neon brights again, but then decided on metallics (to match her name).

I did the white keys with a poster nib and india ink.

If I ever redo this idea, I really need to come up with an easier way.

neon to Susan (PTEx)

Tried to emulate the one I sent to Leanne (https://snailmailingmadness.blogspot.com/search/label/Brush%20lettering).

It looks prettier in-person.

Brown craft to Jean

I started this one last year, and decided to finally finish and send off to Jean this month.

Had a little fun on the back side with her address.

Bike to Jean

I love how well this one turned out! Had no idea how I would letter it, then got out my Zig metallic brush pen and it went so well with the lovely heart stamp!

Although it would have been fun to do the address within the shape of the road, I like how I did it.

Bike wrapping paper

Did a few more with my bike-themed wrapping paper:

I should have done her name in a different color (light blue?), with no outline.  😕

Don't like how her name turned out. I have trouble with her name b/c of the double g's.

Brown craft to Janet

Been struggling with how to letter Janet's name lately. Seems I always do it the same. SO, got this idea from another I started for Jean last year (https://snailmailingmadness.blogspot.com/2021/05/brown-craft-to-jean.html).

I love how it turned out. Can't go wrong with black and white on brown craft paper!

Bike theme to Lynne

I'm growing tired of my magazine page envelopes, but I had to send this one, as I love the design so much! Fun near-primary colors too.

And you can't beat how well the heart stamp goes!

Cool backside design as well.

I just hope the recipients like them!

Bike Theme to Kate

Fun one with the 2 bikes. (Magazine Page)

I love how my garage sale sticker fit SO perfectly in the red circle design already on the page!
And how well the heart stamp goes with it too.

Another area for a garage sale dot. How fun.

Bike Month!

Bike Envies for this year (see separate posts for each):

3 magazine pages and 1 wrapping paper.

Neon to Leanne

This piece was a little "labor of love", as the first try (3rd pic) was a bit time-consuming. I wanted to make something fun for Leanne (she sets the bar for me!), and also, wanted to create something for my neon posts. And I must say, I LOVE how this turned out!!!

Finished piece, just the front. Love the gold name over the colorful paint.

Before pic. Painted neon on paper then pasted onto cardstock and folded in half to seem like an env. It started to come apart, as I just used a glue stick, so I'm hoping it stayed in-tact with the dot stickers.

This was the original idea. (FAIL!) I tried to do a torn paper piece (got idea from something on Pinterest), but my torn paper didn't line up as I'd hoped. Am actually glad, as I love the painted piece so much better! In fact, it inspired these:

painted right on the env. this time. Also did torn strips vs. piecing together.

I have these old neon circle stickers (have no idea where they came from), folded in half on env. and added paint. Can't wait to address and send out!

Bday to Shannon

Sent 2 cards: regular one, and a postcard.

Repurposed env. as it had another name on it. Tried to make a design over it, but didn't turn out to my liking. But I do love the bright liveliness to it!
Used stickers for her name, which I hope she enjoys. 3d elements too (paper and gems)

An old card I've had forever, as I love the embossing. Finally decided to part with. But first, I added neon colors (to kind of match the env.)

Back of env.

Postcard. Forgot to take pic of back with separation border.
This started out as a bike using my ruling Writer, but I trie to turn into a festive design.
Added a gold painted wood circle and the Celebrate on torn paper.

May PTEx to Jessica

I've had this piece of printed scrapbook paper forever, and originally thought I'd use it for a Lennon stamp, but decided to use it for Jessica this month.

Folded pen lettering

Cinco de Mayo to Janet (and Jean)

So happy I got the idea to do a Cinco de Mayo themed env. this year! But, of course, I forgot to do the alpha I save on Pinterest (see below) -- next year!

For the insert, I did it initially for my Neon Challenge, but then altered so I could send to Janet. Wish I had done on unlined paper.

This pic is a little brighter. Decided to try and do my own mexi-themed lettering. Not too bad!

Then my creative thinking for the back!  Ha!

Font for Next year.

Neon block to Janet

Lately, I'm having trouble coming up with ideas for Janet (beside decorated env.'s) as I feel like I keep lettering her name the same.

Was trying to do a neon creation, but I don't like how it turned out. (I sent it anyway though!)

Made a little 3d flower on the back (for spring!)

Birds to Janet

I painted these birds (watercolor) a few years ago (Pinterest inspired; can't find original), and love how they turned out. I decided to part with them to send to Janet in a clear env.

Used a Zig Fudebiyori brush metallic marker, which didn't smear!

This would be great as a postcard or painted directly on an env. itself. I plan to create more, hopefully.

Bikes to Shannon

It's Bike Month, so you know what that means! Yep...my bicycle-themed envelopes!

Here are a few I sent to Shannon to start:

I cannot remember what I did for an insert, but I'm sure it was just something insignificant, just to help sturdy the env. Magazine page.

My "infamous" bike wrapping paper and heart stamp!
Bnib style lettering.

Insert.

Back flap.
