TY to my bil

Sending a Thank You card to my bro-inlaw for my son's bday gift. Not a very spectacular env., but i LOVE the K!

I liked the first one too, but I messed up the address. grrr.

Wintry to Jean (Winter Flurries!)

I created this env. years ago (glue then pastels over) and decided to address it to Jean for Feb., since it looked a little wintry.

I added more accents too:  sparkles, splatters and glitter glue. Do not like how the stamp is so dark against the "delicate-ness" of the design.

Splatters and a snowflake sticker on the back.

And turned upside down as I liked my lettering:

The insert was just meant to help stabilize the env. Again, I had started it last year as an watercolor experiment, then added the "hello!" and more accents.

Here is the cancelled env. pic from her blog, and her wonderful comments:

"She certainly has some lovely stuff on hand for *filler.*.....The *filler* looks like bubbles of tropical water. The shimmery inks or paints are so pretty - and might not show up in the photos."

Thanks, Jean!

Jean's Blog - 10 years.

I so wish I had discovered Jean's blog years ago, however, I feel like my lettering (and ideas!) have improved so much since then (so I might have been embarrassed by old pieces!) Even on my own blog, I look back to some things created last year and cringe!

Although it was a little late, I decided to create a "Celebratory" card for her. Wish I had taken a before pic of the env. (another mag. page). I loved the env. when I saw it and thought it perfect for New Year's Eve, but then thought, why not for this occasion as well?

Stamp is perfect for this. Used my Ruling Writer for the card.

V-Day envies

Created these after V-Day (no time to send out) so will save for next year.

Magazine pages from HyVee magazine.

And here's a little heart. i love how it turned out, but then I ruined it by lettering over it.

V-Day to Janet

This mag. page is an ad -- can you guess the product? (will reveal at the end)

Had to use this -- thought it fun for VDay. And how the stamp matches -- yay!

I messed up the flap, so I tried to cover over with script lettering, but didn't turn out. Wish I had thought of something better to cover up the words at the bottom too vs. just scribbles.

I love how this quote turned out! And thought it fitting to send to Janet, as we are new friends (since Sept. 2019 in-person, and Dec. 2018 via snail mail).

oh! and the ad -- Tylenol. (cheesy? or fun?)

Snowflakes quote

I don't like these Cmas stamps as much as I thought I would (my original ideas didn't turn out), so am trying to use them up.

Found this quote online and thought it fitting for Feb.

You can barely tell from the photo, but this is a pretty patterned paper that reminds me of snow. Did her name in gouache. Used some snowflake stickers too.

(Wish I had snowflakes postage stamps but these will have to do.)

I love how this turned out! I struggle with layouts, so when something turns out right for me, I'm happy!
