Crossword to Janet

When I did this idea for George last year (https://snailmailingmadness.blogspot.com/2021/08/crossword-to-george.html), I also go the idea to do one for Janet. I put it off, as I didn't want to make the grid (too much work), but then I came upon this old grid env. I'd been saving for decades!

It went perfect with the square toss bags in the stamp.
Wish I could share the clues, but then that'd give away her address. But here are others:
1 across: "Miss Jackson, if you're nasty"
1 Down:  French name (but I can't remember what I wrote what it means)

Also, just to be safe, I re-wrote the address in full, on one line at the bottom in black.

Insert I sent with it. (To go with the stamp theme, "play".)

Backyard Games: Badminton

This is one where the sketch was better than the final product.

I wanted to use the shuttlecock as the A in her name, but not sure it worked.

I didn't draw free-hand, so that was one roadblock (too much work!), then when I tried embossing, it failed. So then I tried debossing and that didn't work very well either.

Then, I messed up the last name a bit with the r loop and the s. grrr.

Also, forgot to do a b-day theme, so I enclosed another small card.

Backyard Games: horseshoes (Carolyn & Cathy)

Another clever idea, if I do say so myself!  ;D

When I decided to use this stamp, I immediately saw the horseshoe as a C, and I was lucky enough to have 2 PTEx recipient's this month whose names start with C!

Close up of stamp. Do you see it too?  ;)

The horseshoe turned out better on Cathy's. Wish I had done the y in a script hand vs. b-nib. And there was too much "white space" before her name, so I kinda wish I had added more horseshoes, but was afraid of ruining it.

More Backyard Games! (croquet)

I'm having SUCH fun with these stamps!!! Creative juices were definitely flyin'!

I knew immediately I'd use/create a ball for the o's in his name, but then the hoop looked like an "n" to me, so thought that perfect! THEN, I decided at the last minute to use the post as the "i"!
Didn't turn out perfect, as I had to do touch ups (white ink is tricky!) but overall, I was happy.

Kind of came together as I was lettering it.

Close up of stamp and n. Please tell me you see the resemblance!  :)

*I also used a ball on the back for the return address zip code, but cannot find my pic of that.

Pink b-day to Janet (more script)

I love using my new extra fine point Posca markers for script writing! Such a great alternative to trying to write with my folded pens. (orig. post:  https://snailmailingmadness.blogspot.com/2022/04/script-lettering-posca-pen.html )

simple white on pink, matching stamp colors. (notice gold dot above j)

Using some more alpha stickers on the back.
At first, I hated that I didn't have an R, but I love how it turned out! #fun !

Insert/card.
Tried using a new fine point masking marker, but darker ink is needed. (So, I had to outline with gold.)

Script to Jean

Decided to use some bright (astrobrights) lined notebook paper for this env.

Used a extra fine point Posca marker for the script writing. (SO glad I discovered these as an alternative to my inks! So much easier.)
