Grinchy.

This is a copy of one i did last year (and can't bear to part with just yet: https://snailmailingmadness.blogspot.com/2023/12/day-19-grinch.html )

i added Max the dog, and then this insert:

Here it is addressed:

And on the flip side:
Love the tree, but the ornament is a bit of a fail (it's suppose to represent the scene with the lone ornament falling off the tree as he's stealing it. But I couldn't remember the color.)

and a close up of Max!

This is another I want to duplicate!

Happy Bday, Dr. Seuss!

Today is Dr. Seuss's b-day. He was born in 1904 (same year as my paternal grandma). 😊
(and no, I'm not "that" old...she had my dad later in life.) 😁

So, in honor of the children's author, I did a theme to Nele. Used fun lettering for both quotes.

B-nib for name & address (well, the country).

I love the top red piece. Hope she "gets" the cut outs! (stand out/cut out)

Day 19: Grinch

Love, Love, LOVE this!!!
Not sure who I'll send to (oh! get it -- who??? -- haha!), but I plan to do the name in lovely pp. (maybe pp uncial?) I also love the lime green env. i chose -- perfect.

I plan to do the Grinch's heart either on the front flap or make an insert with the lettering. Will update.

Maybe I'll make another one or 2! (Wouldn't it be great if there were Grinch stamps???)

Cmas Theme to Virginia

Not sure when these were sent (early 2000's prob.), but am grouping together.

This is so fun, as the lettering is reminiscent of Dr. Seuss. Need to do more like this!

Callig pen (double stroke?) filled in with gold, and outlined w/green. Love the borders too. This is another def. repeat I need to keep in mind.

Children's books

It's rare I do any kind of drawing to go along with the stamp, but I think this may have been for an exchange challenge. I was pretty proud of my results!

Very Hungry Caterpillar. I love how I thought to add to his body on the eaten leaf.  You can barely see, but I punched holes in the leaf to look as though he ate through it!

Fox in Socks. I love the typewriter lettering I did.

I really don't know about this book, but I looked up images for it, and this is what I created.

I should try to do more env.'s like these, but I really love to focus on lettering instead.
