Another to George (funky design)

This one has been in my "decorated" env. file for a few years now. It's one I loved that at first, I had trouble parting with (and was unsure of who to send to). Decided to send to George.

At first, tried doing his name in gold ink, but I didn't like how it was showing up, so I did white instead. Address is a little messy, but at least it's legible!

Back side, name in Brush lettering.

What I love most about this one is the primary colors. On my To Redo list.

Snail theme to Bridget (Australia)

I'm low on int'l. stamps, so I decided to combine 2 70-centers for this env. to Australia.

Love how her name turned out, but my snail...not-so much.

LOVE how her name in blue turned out! Used a brush marker (was trying to match the blue color in the stamps) and so glad I thought to do yellow for the dot above the i.

Back side. Used a fun sticker courtesy of Lauren in CA! Thanks!!

Funky lettering to Grace (H.)

Cannot remember where I got the idea for this lettering, but have been playing around with it. Decided to use for Grace this month:

Used my Pilot Parallel Pen. Colored in the shapes with color pencil and some metallic watercolors.
It's funny, the design between the address was a mistake-turned-happy accident:  i messed up the address, so I just went over with with my pen, trying to make the same shapes (or similar) as with the name.

Same thing happened on the back! I didn't like how I did her return address, so I went over it, but I love how it's decorative! Hope she likes it too.

Crossword to George!

I have a HUGE idea file for env.'s on Pinterest (over 1,000 pins!) and there is one I saved that's a crossword. Every so often, I clean up my pins, and when I came across it recently, nearly deleted it, as I wasn't sure how i could execute it.

But with a little creativity, I was able to make it work!

Finished env. ready to send. I'm sure there are better ways this could be done but for now, I used grid paper, as I wanted a fun colorful background (vs. just plain black). I hope it arrives lined-up perfect!

Backside.

plain env. w/out the insert

Black "puzzle" insert.

My clever clues! Yay or nay? (I esp. like 1 & 2 Down)

Trial piece I did for Jean. Used watercolor first to color in, but then thought it better with markers. Also, decided to end up sending to George, as Jean mentioned that on the blog, and I wanted to send him a little something, as he's Jean's caregiver till she's better.
Same clues, except for her name ("Another name for Denim:  Blue ____").

*UPDATE:
Jean posted on her blog and I love how it looks sent!

Walnut ink design to Rachael

This env. started out as a "sketch" with some brush pens and my folded nib (see below). But then I decided to make the whole thing into a decorated env. for Rachael.

Added 3d puff paint and purple/mauve/rose color.

Backside. (It was a sample stationary sheet.)

Original sketch for env. (I can still use this idea for future ones!)

Full sheet b/4 folding.

Mag. Env. to Carolyn

I don't know if i have a before pic of this (hope so!), as it was a such a fun design. Wish I had a smaller stamp, but the Innovation one went rather well.

Although you really can't tell, I used a black metallic Zig fudebiyori brush marker for her name. Then I also, re-lettered it with my white Posca marker in the black shape. Added her address above in the pink box.

Backside.

"Happy" (Gilmore) mail!

So, this is my first time reusing (or using?) a cancelled stamp. I've been trying to save all the fun stamps from env.'s, but I cannot think of any good ideas (or rather, it's too time-consuming to remove them and reuse.)

This one, though, arrived in pretty good shape! And was fairly easy to peel off to reuse. SO, since Janet is taking up golf, I thought it appropriate to send her my "Happy Gilmore" golf-themed envie.

Not the same pic as the one I sent to Jean a few years back, but still a good one. (https://snailmailingmadness.blogspot.com/2019/07/happy-gilmore.html)

I loved my "Have a Ball" stamp creations. And now, this year with the Olympics, I could've had some fun with the volleyball one, as well as tennis.

Tokyo theme to Jean (R).

This is another sample stationary paper I converted, and how PERFECT a theme because of the Olympics this year! Her name might not have turned out the best re: Japanese writing, but I tried! (I love the color combo from the back (red, green & yellow).

Got in a hurry, so i know I could have done this better. Love how the chopsticks was perfect for the address. And of course, the heart stamp went so well!

Care card to Jean

So, poor Jean has been having a rough time lately -- minor (we hope!) head injury. Hoping and praying she recovers ok.

Although I send her an env. (or 2) every month, I'm sending her a "special" one this time.

Great happy accident here (with the stamp), as I initially used this teal ink to match the card (below). And when looking through my stamps, cannot believe I found this pretty one with teal in it!

Before stamp and addressing.

I bought this card years ago, prob. at an arts & craft show, and it was plain, so I just added the lettering on top. Was tricky to do because of the background texture, so my "Thinking" didn't turn out so well.

Been practicing my tiny italic for return addresses.

Black & neon to Leanne

I'm getting bad about keeping track of my env.'s and am afraid I owe others, so I decided to send this one to Leanne.

I created it back in April when doing my IG 100 Days of Neon challenge, so it's been sitting in my Leanne folder. I used torn strips of neon papers as well as my garage sale dots.

Love how it turned out, but then struggled with a stamp. Ended up using this floral one, but forgot to take a pic, so I recreated as best as I could. Looks better in-person. It was either this one or the rose Innovation one (but that was too big).

Backside looks more Halloween-ish! I wrote her address small again with a white gel pen, and again, forgot to take a pic.

Small env. (with dots) to Nele

I haven't heard from Nele in a while, and with summer being so busy, I wondered if maybe i owed her an env., as I can't remember the last one I sent. I'm thinking it was in May. Usually, in the summer, our env.'s take about 10 days to reach each other, so I'm hoping all is ok with her!

SO, just to be sure/ safe, i sent her this one just to say hi and check in:

It's been sitting in my Nele folder for a long time, and I originally designed it to go with the int'l. avocado green stamps that I used to loathe, but have come to love (ever since figuring out designs to go with it!) And now, ironically, I dislike these pink ones.  😒  Go figure.

Hate covering up the lettering, esp. when it's nice and/or part of the design.
