Cmas to Judy H

Had this matching set in my Cmas folder and decided to send to Judy this year.
Stamp really doesn't match but oh well! (Love these lovely little elves!)

Also, tried some pp K Caps on the back!

abracadabra to Shannon

I had fun with this but am not happy with her name (Wish I had done a pointed pen version of some kind. At the same time, i find her name harder & harder to letter. I think it's b/c of the double letters.)

This was an old sheet of scrapbook paper (see below) so I decided to convert. Used my Ruling Writer and sumi ink to letter "abracadabra", then in gold script added words from Shakespeare's "Song of the Witches". After that I watercolored over and added the same colors within the big word with color pencils.
Easy to dupe for next year but will do a folded insert to match.

I created another fall-themed mini book (The ABC's of Autumn) trying to pen a poem as well, but beings the poem was an afterthought, it didn't turn out. I need to re-work.

Misc. Cmas

Here are some extra holiday env.'s sent out, that weren't that special to post on their own, so I'm grouping together!

This first one is a printed set I got for free from donating.

This next one is handmade from the usps catalogue.

I thought the "dot" print heart stamp went great with it.

A minilope and tree.

insert w/another minilope to Amy (I did a gingerbread house to Amy, and of course, after, I thought of the Rudolph nose. So, that's the reason for the addressed mini env!)
The insert was my attempt at a joke from The Office.

Some gift tags.

Small env. & card to Carly, my pers. trainer!

More Blue Trees

As with a previous env. (to Desiree: https://snailmailingmadness.blogspot.com/2024/12/blue-tree-set-to-desiree.html ), found these blue trees fun to do for something different, and to match the stamp! (as the tree looks more blue than green in the stamp)

RW and metallic ink

Insert. Again RW but acrylic ink.

Blue tree set to Desiree

I had originally planned to just do a blue tree (for fun! Non-trad colors), but then, decided to match the stamp, as the tree in the stamp has a blue hue to it! (Maybe it's a blue spruce? -- haha!)

Did the insert to match with splatters.

I wish these env. sets were slightly bigger. It's either this small 3x5 size or the 5x7. (Wish these were 4x6) Still fun though.

RW & metallic blue ink.

Snowman to Lina

Decided to send my Snowman creation (from my Cmas challenge) to Lina for January. (And how fitting, as this past week, we got over 10 inches of snow. Ugh.)

Glad I had a leftover snowman stamp.

More pointed pen work!

And some back snowflake accents.

Day 14: Snowman

I did something similar a few years ago, and decided to try and re-create for this year.

Not my best work, but did in a hurry. Maybe I'll get another better idea.
Plan to add the name with same tool (RW).

Close up with added "snowflakes".

Day 10: Non-Traditional Colors

Last year, I saw someone post a RW tree using blue ink, and I thought it was so cool. So this year, I decided to emulate!

I plan to do the name in blue as well (or maybe in pink or gold and the address in blue).

Another cool part of the tree (and you can barely see it), is the mixed colors (wish I had taken a pic before adding the metallics). I had some leftover green in my pen (didn't realize it) and it showed up in the blue. So pretty! (Gives me another idea!)

I then added the hot pink and gold. So many diff. ways one could go with this.

I also did one on canvas for our home (Will post to Folded Pen blogs soon: https://foldedpenfan.blogspot.com/ )

And here it is addressed:

Did matching insert also with non-trad. colors

And here is another that is a bit of a fail:

The pink is prettier in-person. At first, I tried white with my folded pen, but it didn't turn out. (I'm STILL having issues finding that perfect white waterproof opaque ink!) grrrr.
So then, I wiped it off, and used puff paint to make it 3d instead.

Added "primary" colors (pink, yellow, blue)

Day 2: Wreath

Another repeat (from 2020)

This is a magazine page I thought would be fun for Cmas-time. When I went to address, it looked to dark, so I decided to  put in clear env.!

So glad I did, as the address shows up well with the background muted.

Cmas in July! (to Jean R)

I don't know why, but I'm running out of ideas for Jean R, in lettering her name (maybe it's because I've done Jean Wilson's so much!)
Anyway, I came up with this for Cmas in July.

I lettered her last name in script with a Posca pen, and used that as a decorative element.

Can you see the "Rothfusz"?

Since the envelope was so small, I made her a tree booklet for the insert. It's various creations I've done over the years.

3d watercolor piece.

"Flowers" for Nele

In July 2021, I had my "Takeover Week" on IG for Paper & Ink arts, and one of the items I created was this piece (which showcased my RW):

https://foldedpenfan.blogspot.com/2021/08/

I decided to recreate for Nele, but used a diff. quote (and had to size down).

I did the env. to match!

Comparing both pieces.

Env. w/stamp. Used green India ink and my RW. The "flowers" are done with a Q-tip. White India ink for her name.

Just the piece. Using my pp for some pp uncial! (I had to paste over original, as I messed up. grrr! BUT I love how this turned out! Hope she likes too)

Backside. "Surprise!" in green metallic ink.

I'm SO thrilled to send more items to Nele, as I am on a creative roll. I have so many ideas. I think I've "cheated" Nele in the past, as I wasn't sure what to send her, and was more focused on the env. art.
But now, I have more ideas AND I'm more confident in my lettering! Plus, I'm motivated ever since she sent me her wall hanging; knowing she is displaying my art for her enjoyment. Time to up my game!
