Postcards!

I've never really been into postcards, but this month I signed up for a postcard challenge on IG, where there are diff. postcard "prompts" each week. This week was making one out of a box.

I've had this metallic shiny Cmas-y box lid for years, so I decided to cut up and use.

I love how "versatile" it is, as it can be used for Cmas, a bday, or even St. Patty's day!
I used stickers for the letters, as it's too shiny and slick to write on (although I'm sure a sharpie would work just fine).

Another angle.

And just for fun, these were posted for the challenge. https://www.instagram.com/p/B-OseBnHdln/ SO lovely. I would not mind receiving one of these in the mail!

Earth day to Jean!

Found this magazine page, and I immediately thought of Jean. (Denim material, jean material -- get it??)
Love how her name turned out, but alas, my printing...(the address). Maybe I should just start going back to Enviro.

i had to "fake" a  stamp for this b/c I forgot to take a pic with it. I'm assuming I used the butterfly one, as it's fitting.

And looks like I did! This is a pic from Jean's blog. And here's what she had to say:

"Leslie often has funny notes inside her envelopes discussing the things that did not come out the way she would have liked. But she gets a big A++ and a PhD in attitude - because she just points out what displeases her, but she goes ahead and mails it knowing that it will give me a much needed perk-up  and I will put it online where billions of people have the option of looking at it."

UPDATE: (1/1/2024) -- So, I'm updating my blogs, and in doing so, came across this post. Funny how at first, I thought her comment was a compliment, but as I re-read it, it almost sounds like an insult! 😄
I don't get Jean at times. Sometimes I find her humor quirky, other times, snarky.
Whatever. Not gonna let it break me! 😁😉

Die-cut to Nele

In April last year, as an experiment, I did a die-cut env. to Janet (see below). I'd been wanting to do more, but didn't make the time, so I finally created one for Nele.

Hers turned out pretty well! Didn't address b/t the letters as i did Janet's but it probably wouldn't have fit (and I didn't want to take any chances).

This is how it arrived, the cancelled version! I asked Nele to please send a pic of it, as I was curious to how well it went through the mail, and she kindly obliged --  said it arrived in pristine condition! (Yay!)

Here is the one to Janet:
I love the idea, but hate how it turned out (the "flourishes" on the J and T). If I could go back and fix those, I'd really like it, as I love how I lettered her address within the letters (it fit so perfect!)

More St. Patty's Day

2nd batch sent (although I didn't send the rainbow one, as I didn't have a good stamp to match. And I didn't leave enough room for the postmark.)

Used my Speedball B-nibs for these!

Close up.

2nd close up.

Original env. I wanted to send to Jean. Another magazine page I thought so perfect with the rainbow. However, I failed to leave room for the postmark. And I didn't have a good stamp. AND I didn't like where I wrote her address. SO, I just included it in the other green env. (I actually found and printed out a fake shamrock stamp which you'll see later.)

St. Patty's DAy

Since I found out about the St. Patrick, MO postmark (late) last year, I decided to make sure to send mine out early this year!
Outer env. w/folded pen

back of env.

SASE w/b-ball stamp for March Madness (even though it was cancelled this year -- #pandemic2020)
Used a chisel nib callig marker. Nothin' fancy.
