October to Kit (EK stamp)

Had the idea to incorporate the stamp into her name, as it looks like a "K" and so I tried to create a "C" to match for her last name. Do not like -- fail! So I tried to make up for it with inserts:

Was going to do an "itsy bitsy spider" insert, but thought the "Boo" went better.

Added metallic watercolors within the white india ink.

Flap side of env.

Tried to match to name. Can bare see the metallic colors

3d Ghost env. to Introverted Post

Had this idea from last year. Ghost is 3d. Would love to do spiderweb 3d as well, so I might have to try on another envie!

Close up.

Cannot remember what stamp I used (I think it was the black "K" looking one of Ellsworth Kelly). Wish there were Halloween stamps available right now.

Football Stamps

So glad I came up with this idea! Again, was going to try drawing, but easier to print out.
Not liking how I did the names, and of course, looking back, I could probably come up with something better (Peanuts lettering, maybe? or monoline?)

It's always weird not seeing the stamp in the Upper Right corner.

Janet kindly sent me a pic of the cancelled env.

For Grace's, I tried making it look like the zip code numbers were falling like leaves, but looks like a fail.

And here are some comments from Jean's blog, as I sent this to her:

Jean:  "Leslie did a fabulous job with the Have a Ball stamps."

"So cleverly and beautifully done." (Finnbadger)

"I love this envelope!!"  (Lisa -- no last name)

Roman Caps to Nele

I wanted to do "spread out" drawn Roman caps, but also had to use colors to match the stamp. I was pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Flair markers and color pencil.

Did insert card to match.

Back. Started getting creative with my "From's".

Abstract design to Marguerite

Old env. I created a few years ago. Cannot remember if I used white gouache or ink, but I colored in with pink, blue & yellow. I also added more embellishments such as glitter and splatters.

Used my Wink of Stella pointed brush pen, but wish I had done her top name in foundational or something different, to have a better contrast.

Decorated the back and added my "standard" hello.

with stamp.

Used my music nib for her initials on the enclosed letter.

Red, Blue & Gold design to Ellen

This is for a year-long callig. list exchange. Once again, I forgot to take a "before" pic.  :/   This is an envelope I created months ago, as I have a lot that I just decorated for fun. Then, I added her name in gold over the design. Although I like it, I don't like how the background design shows through her name (takes away from it):

This was the original env. I was going to send her (again, I created months ago). Was doing a series with numbers. For the zip, I used my own creation which is a combo of plain block numbers and Sherri Kiesel's Dancing Caps. I never got around to coloring it in, but sent it to her anyway.

Final envelope with stamp, which, once again, turned out great! (stamp matched it perfectly!)

to Sinead (Ireland)

Sinead sent me a whole lot of lettered goodies, so I wanted to thank her in return.

I enclosed a piece I did a while ago (early in the year) which I have been wanting to send to someone ("Wish). The art on the env. itself didn't turn out like the enclosed piece, but I still think it turned out ok (I like the card better though).

Love the back side splatters!

The back of the card accidentally got some ink on it, but it looks like something I did on purpose (and, of course, if I TRIED to do something like this, it wouldn't turn out). There's something simple about it that i love (almost like a tiny logo).
