Metallic Pumpkin to Janet

Another one where I got the idea last year. At first, I was going to try to do her name in the shape of a pumpkin, but decided to go this route instead.

I don't know how long "tendrils" are (or whatever they're called), but incorporated her name that way.

Another angle as the above photo is a bit too shiny & bright.

Back flap -- metallic leaves.

Peanuts (Halloween) to Mary (PTEx)

In honor of Beggar's Night, thought I'd post this one today!

In keeping with Halloween themed cartoons (see Looney Tunes),
I had to do a Peanuts one as well.

Although there are Peanuts stamps, they wouldn't have gone as well, so I opted for the Raven.

Very tricky lettering on these envelopes, as a lot of the ink bleeds/feathers. Wanted to use my green metallic ink to match though.

At first, I wanted to do Linus on the back in the Pumpkin Patch, but was tired of all the drawing, etc., so I opted for stickers instead.

Haunted House to Carolyn

Ugh... So bummed I messed this one up. Hopefully, you can't tell.

My idea was to use the ghosts stamp as a window of the house, BUT then I forgot to make the other window the same! I did put a ghost in it, but I didn't do the "glass" part to look like the stamp. grrr.

However, I was so happy I thought to do the crescent moon as the C for her name. Also, thought to add a run-down wood fence to make it more eerie. Then, I added bat stickers in the "sky".

Back flap. Another sticker (spider) and j-o-l.

Diff. angle to see the glitter.

Itsy Bitsy Spider to Shannon

This piece was originally intended to be an insert, but then I got the idea to turn it into an envelope instead. (And lucky for me, there was enough white space for the address!)

I added spiders with a Q-tip.

No Halloween-ish stamp to match, so used this one b/c of the colors. (not bad!)

Here is a before pic where you can see the Weaver writing (gouache) and overlapping words of the song.

Back flap.

Close-ups of spiders:

*for the eyes, I added white ink first, then the black dots. This was all an accident, as at first (as you can see above), I just used black dots for the eyes. Didn't like the look of that, so I tried adding the white, THEN figured out it works best if I add the white first!

Overall, pretty darn happy with how it turned out -- Fun!  :)

Poe to George (Raven)

I knew I wanted to do Poe's Raven for this env. (to match the stamp too), but wasn't sure of the layout.

I "stole" the G design from Jean, as she did these cool letters last year:

At first, I wanted to do the whole poem (or most of it) in small script behind Poe's head, but didn't want to deal with going around the illustration, so I just did the first line and the "Nevermore" part. A bit too much b/c it runs into the G, so I should have done smaller. grrr.

Diff. angle to see his head better. Thought it best to leave it hard to see/in black so as not to take away from the G.

Another angle.

And yet another.

Back flap. Wasn't sure what else to put, so I just left it as it. (Was going to do my "...if you dare" lettering, but decided to pass.)

Witch Hazel to Kate

3rd in Looney Tunes series...
Again, so many options for Witch Hazel, but went with this. And again, chose the cat postage stamp to match.

Tried to match her name to Witch Hazel's hair. (Did it work?)

Back flap stickers.

Another close up of my embers that I'm so proud of and happy with how they turned out!

Looney Tunes to Jean (Gossamer)

You gotta love Gossamer! So many ideas, but I went with this one.

Didn't want to do "scary" lettering, so I chose a fun monoline way.

Back flap. Did the return address in green metallic, just for fun.

Spider sticker.

Close up of evil scientist. Made this a little spooky with the lettering and "blood".

Looney Tunes to Janet (bat)

So, here is the full version:

Didn't know how to letter her name, so just went with a "monoline" small font. Also, you can't see, but I used the Halloween bat postage stamp to match!

Looney Tunes!

I got this idea last Halloween, but it was too late, so I had to wait a whole year to send them!
These are teasers... full env.'s to follow.

Full env. b/4 addressing. Wings are too dark. Love the lettering though!

I tried erasing/lightening the color, but it smeared. So then I outlined with my metallic gel pen.

Did this guy on the back flap. Am tempted to add the baseball bat, but am also tired of drawing.  😋

Gossamer!!

And I HAD to include the evil scientist as well! (was a little challenging trying to get the green color just right).

And couldn't forget Witch Hazel... ("eee, heee heee heee!!!")
I must say, my embers turned out so great!

Coffee to George

Another coffee themed envie...

I didn't plan out the cup very well, so it didn't turn out to my liking (I wanted the rim to serve as the O in his name). Plus, I messed up my 2nd g. (Grrrr)

I guess George loves coffee (Jean told me), so I was happy I did this for him!

Used my bullet point Posca pen for his name.
