Extra env. to Maggie (New Year)

Last month, I had Maggie for PTEx, and her env. didn't turn out as I envisioned. So, I converted this practice sheet, but did not mail, as I didn't plan it out correctly for the stamp. However, I did send to her in her b-day env.

It was from 2021 (can you see the "2's"?), and then I added the crossbar to the 1 to make a 4. (see original piece below)

Here is the back.

abstract to Amy (mini)

Again, forgot to take a before pic.  😕

Trial piece with the word, "wonder". Made into a mini env. (3x5) and colors to match the stamp.

Then, did a short letter the same width as env. and tri-folded it.

Snowflakes on black to Shannon

In trying to match the stamp, I used my Crayola gel markers, BUT 1) not only did I have trouble with them (don't know why they work on some papers and not others), but 2) I had sent her one similar to this (color-wise) last year. Grrr. Wish I had know b/4, as i would have done bronze or white name.

Added wintry accents with pp

Did letter to match.

Close up.

New Year to Janet

Happy 2023!  It's a new year, and that means new art! (well, sorta)

This is a converted env. from a practice piece. Once again, I forgot to take a before pic, so i have no idea what it once said. However, this is kinda cool: the right side "design" almost looks like a "2". I almost tried making that into the new year, but it looked too tricky.
The stamp doesn't go the best either, as I had to add some red for it to somewhat match. But i didn't have any other decent matching stamps.

Diff. angle to better see the colors and details.

Hate that I have those circles covering up the address, but paint doesn't work like it use to. Grrr.

Back side. I left it as is.

Drawn Caps to Irene (red env.)

This is from the altered drawn caps series (that I discovered during my 100 Days of Redos)

Also included a New Year's card.

Cmas Thank You's

Every year, i try to send out Thank You's to family members, just to add the extra special personal touch (vs. just an email or text). Plus, it's fun for me to send more snail mail mail art!  😄

Abstract design handmade env. Love how my printing turned out, since I struggle with that.

Need to brag just a bit, as this is so much more pretty in-person.

With insert. Happy with design as well as my lettering!

This one, however, not-so-much. Ick (made last year).

Non-traditional colors to Nele

Haven't heard from Nele in a while, so I sent her Cmas env. mid-Dec., in hopes she'll receive in time for the New Year!

Her name (and the insert below) is a take off on the letters I found on Pinterest, which I used for my 100 Day Challenge: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/284993482659056040/

In order to match the stamp, I had to use pink instead of red to compliment the green.

didn't do much on the back this time. (and have I mentioned that I'm so sick of cutting and pasting to make cards? Wish someone could do that for me! 😃)

Misc. Cmas envies

Some misc. envelopes for the holiday season:

This idea came from (yet again!) something found on Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/284993482660835784/ (which I used for my 100 Day Challenge on IG)

Also did on black env. but have only added red dots for accents so far.

Below are various env.'s used as gifts for money to fam. members:

The candy cane is actually attached to the env.
Zig metallic brush marker

Red Zig metallic brush marker.

Back side (again, candy cane attached)

Sometimes, I will wrap the env. of cash in a box, to make it more fun to open, but this year, was pressed for time! So, I just did a bow.
Again, another Zig fudebiyori metallic brush marker.

Abstract Cmas Designs

Had fun with these env.'s and my Horizon folded pen. (Dr. Martin's Bombay India ink)

Hate that it's blurry. Didn't realize b/4 I sent it.

Before pic.

Insert (messed up my lettering -- grrrr.)

Collage pic. 2 env.'s and a gift tag

Close ups.

B-day to Lynne S.

Used my metallics on black to Lynne (This idea is so versatile!)

I should have used the celebration stamp, but was going with the Halloween theme, so I used the Raven one.

New Year's postcard

So, this is a bit late, but I just had to send instead of waiting next year (sending to Jean). Was going through some papers, and came upon this cardstock sample of "confetti" paper. Not only fitting b/c of that, but the photo on the front!

Forgot to take a pic, but on the backside is a description of the confetti paper. I immediately thought of Jean b/c of all her paper knowledge. So fun.

Lettering with gold ink.

Diff. angle w/champagne, midnight clock, top hat and noisemaker.

Cheers to Maggie!

One last New Year's card & env.

Walnut ink and metallic watercolors with gold writing over. Same design as Jean & Janet's:
 https://snailmailingmadness.blogspot.com/2020/12/cheers-to-jean.html

Diff. lighting (to see metallics better). Before stamp.

With card. This one turned out better than Jean's (didn't bleed!)

New Years to Janet and Lina

Tried something different:  Versals.
I use to love hand-drawn letters vs. actual lettering, but have since gotten away from that. However, am venturing more back into it, esp. with Versals.

Messed up my Z for Lina.  :/

Cannot remember which stamps I used (but I wanna say the new Innovations ones).

Did hello 2021 on the backs vs Happy New Year.

Cheers to Jean

Am doing a semi-series of these envelopes (see Janet's Cmas one), and made one for Jean.

Love how it turned out! (although the watercolors are metallic)

So mad... the Cheers bled! Don't know why as they're matching wc paper (but obviously the env. must be diff. from the card). Grrr. Sent anyway.
