Birthday to Jean

I decorated this envelope a few years ago, and finally decided to part with it and send to Jean for her b-day. Wasn't sure how to letter her name, but I think I made a wise choice, eh?

Happy with how well the stamp goes (better in-person).

B-day insert.

2nd Bday to Lina

I waned to make Lina's b-day special, so I sent her another card:

Wanted to do her name big, but not working out.

Tried to match colors to card.

Card is "repurposed" as it started out as birthday lettering, but I didn't like. So, I made the letters look like candles and did a design over.

B-day to Lina!

So happy to be able to send Lina a b-day card/ env.! May send her another, just to help make it special.

Decided to do with neon colors to maybe go along with my 100 Days of Neon challenge.
Pentel Pointed Brush lettering.

Card didn't turn out as fun as the env. but I'm sure she'll still enjoy.

Spring to Nele

I started this env. last year (or the year before), thinking it would match the green stamp, but my greens are off! So mad, as it was too late to use the pink stamp.  😕

Did a Spring insert to match (somewhat).

I'm all out of the green stamps now, and funny enough, I have more env.'s started (as well as ideas!) to go with it! Go figure. Am hoping I can find more at the po or other stamp place (that aren't costly!)

Easter to George

I saw George's name lettered SO lovely on IG, that I had to try to copy:

https://www.instagram.com/p/CM1Rul2Df4U/

This guy's work is SO amazing -- I love it. I aspire to letter like him.

Anyway, here is my attempt at a copy:

I was super thrilled with how it turned out (even though I made a few changes). But of COURSE I lettered it on scrap paper. And instead of trying to redo, I decided to send anyway. I used a ruined env. that turned out to be perfect (size and color).

I also used a folded pen vs. his stick and brush.

At first I wanted to cut around the name, BUT that would have shown too much of the ruined part of the env., so I just covered the whole thing.

I forgot to take a pic of the back, which was only the return address, however, I cleverly covered up the other return address I had on it first. I just made it into an abstract design. (Maybe Jean will post a pic or send me one if I ask.)

Although not traditional Easter colors, I also made an insert card to match.

with the stamp. Am hoping they can't see the printing on the opp. side of the paper. At least you can't see the ruined name on the env. itself.

Easter to Janet

Am getting a bit burnt out with snail mail lately, and not sure why. One thing I DO know is that I'm running out of ways to letter Janet's name! And I use to love to letter her name.

I feel like no matter what alpha or hand I choose, it looks the same. So, for this month, I did an "altered" foundational using my Pentel pointed brush pen.

a/n too thick, but nice contrast, I guess? Also used neon pink and gold colors.

Card. I like my "p"s.

Easter to Jean

I made this last year (magazine page) and completely forgot to send to her, so I found this year and off it went!
Pointed pen name.

Copied this from Pinterest. Tried to make neon easter eggs, but failed. (sent anyway instead of redoing)
