Feb to Nele

So, for this one, I tried using my new ink (pink w/gold sheen), but it didn't show up well on the paper, and it bled. 😔

I tried my best to fill in and make it pretty anyway, as I really like how the lettering turned out.

I sent a sample but forgot to take a pic of it. I just wanted her to see the cool ink.

Backside. I love the paint marks at the edge of the flap.

Insert. Wrote to her that this is how I feel exchanging with her! I'm just hoping it doesn't get bent AND that my outer ink didn't bleed through!

Here it is mounted. That background paper is blinding in-person!

"Flowers" for Nele

In July 2021, I had my "Takeover Week" on IG for Paper & Ink arts, and one of the items I created was this piece (which showcased my RW):

https://foldedpenfan.blogspot.com/2021/08/

I decided to recreate for Nele, but used a diff. quote (and had to size down).

I did the env. to match!

Comparing both pieces.

Env. w/stamp. Used green India ink and my RW. The "flowers" are done with a Q-tip. White India ink for her name.

Just the piece. Using my pp for some pp uncial! (I had to paste over original, as I messed up. grrr! BUT I love how this turned out! Hope she likes too)

Backside. "Surprise!" in green metallic ink.

I'm SO thrilled to send more items to Nele, as I am on a creative roll. I have so many ideas. I think I've "cheated" Nele in the past, as I wasn't sure what to send her, and was more focused on the env. art.
But now, I have more ideas AND I'm more confident in my lettering! Plus, I'm motivated ever since she sent me her wall hanging; knowing she is displaying my art for her enjoyment. Time to up my game!

Paint Shaper for Janet

Tried something new! Been wanting to do this, and although it's not exactly what I wanted, not a total fail either.

Acrylic ink and my paint shaper tool (uncial lettering).

I wish I had written the last name in script with a Posca pen, vs. using my other paint shaper tool.

Diff. angle

Backside. Tried making the heart to match the stamp.

Snowflakes to Barb (Canada)

I can't get enough of snail mail! SO, I went searching online for more exchanges, and came upon this lady. Thought I'd reach out, and sent one her way. (If we start corresponding, I'll have to get more int'l. stamps asap!)

Got some new snowflake stamps recently, so I did a winter theme. Coffee stamps matched the best.
Outlined her name in metallic gold ink and filled in with metallic watercolors.

3d to Alex

Just a little (late!) congrats card to my oldest for his new job!

Used 3d puff paint for his name (see close-up below).

Insert to match. (I so wish I had left it blank under the "Congrats" part -- grrrr!)

Coffee to Janet (themed env.)

This coffee print env. is from the ones I order at Vanness:

https://snailmailingmadness.blogspot.com/2023/01/unique-envs-from-vanness.html

Tried to do her name like the coffee swirls. Don't know if she "got" it!

Did this for her insert, but I forgot to take a pic.

Uncial names (white callig marker; Love Stamp)

Feb. "V-Day" envies for PTEx
Used my Sakura chisel tip calligraphy marker in white. Then, had to outline so they'd pop!

Collage pic

Added dots to match colors in stamp.

For some, I tried to do the back side numbers to match the front uncial lettering.
(most were fails)

I was so bummed, as April's turned out really nice without outlining. But it was so light. Wish I would have kept that way vs. adding the outlining.

Love how Cathy's turned out.

And Janet's. Not bad.

For Janet's I had these stickers that kind of matched the stamp theme.
