Graveyard to Faye

This is very similar to the one I did for the STL Mailbox contest:

When I first got the idea for this for Faye, I original planned to do her name with bones, but it didn't look good (unless you do on the computer), so I decided to make her name "ghoulish".

(Now I'm wishing I had made the letters look more like the hand from the STL Mailbox one:

The tree's not good either, but not bad!

If I had take more time with it, I'm sure I could've made it turn out much better. Maybe i'll make one for next year and plan it out better.

Halloween to Patty

Although Patty wasn't on my Oct. PTEx list this year, in going through my env. files, I came upon this one I must've started for her last year. SO, I decided to send her way!

I also had saved this boo so I made it into a little card for her.
Hope it brightened her day!

Another STL Entry

This was a last-minute idea for the STL Mailbox Halloween Envelope Art Contest. It's similar to a postcard I sent to Jean last year (which, was also a last-minute idea!):

https://snailmailingmadness.blogspot.com/2020/10/last-minute-idea.html

I'm curious as to how it arrived, as some pieces of paper were dangling off the envelope. Hope they didn't tear off!

Blood Drip to Nanski

And extra one to Nanski. Wish my blackletter was better, but alas, I don't take the time to make my letters (spacing, etc.) perfect. (Maybe I'm giving others ideas though and they can "redo" my projects!)  ;D

So glad I thought to add the black shading. Adds so much!

My fun backside!

Postcard to Lynn (extra)

Although I don't like my lettering on this (done last year I think), I saved it anyway, and am sending to Lynne for this year's OCT. PTEx as an extra b-day mailing for her.

It was the perfect size for a postcard and the main reason I'm sharing is b/c of my border on the back. (I get so proud of my borders -- or divider lines; whatever their called.)

Mums to Bridget (Australia)

I'm thinking Bridget might become a regular for me, so this env. was perfect to send her way (b/c of the int'l. stamp)

I had saved this magazine page from last year, thinking it'd be perfect for fall (mums in bloom!) and so glad I thought to use this stamp with it. I failed to take a before pic, but I put it in a clear env.

I love how I thought to use the white space ("MUMS" letters) for the address on the back. Perfect!

I also included a little note to her po ladies, as she said they get a kick out of her fun snail mail.

STL Mailbox contest

So, on IG there's a Halloween Env. Art Contest via STL Mailbox (St. Louis, MO), and boy, did my creative juices start flowin'!

Here are my entries. (I don't know... maybe they're not a good as I think, but I like 'em!)

Was pretty proud of this one, esp. since i don't really draw anymore.
It's actually a take off the one below, but just how she made the Y in You, as to me, it looks like a tree.
SO, can you see what I did?

Hoping my lettering is ok, as i had to put my return address on the back.

env. inspo found on flikr.

Back of env. A little "Boo."

My trusty 'ole Spiderweb letters! Did in metallic red to match stamp.
Wish the pumpkin (O) showed up better.

Backside. Lettered "itsy bitsy spider".

LOVE this one!!! (before pic)
So mad about the lettering though, as it didn't turn out like my test below. The test lettering turned out perfect (used my slant tip parallel pen). I used a folded pen and metallic ink for the env., but I didn't get any splatters. (It would've prob. turned out better had I just drawn it on instead.)  😕😟😞

Also, it'd be SO cool if the stamp was unused/new. I had saved it from another Halloween mailing not sure what I'd use it for, then I got this idea. It's in "great" condition, b/c no cancellation and it peeled off easily. But I have to use my raven one. I could probably make it into a postcard and address it on the back, but that would kind of defeat the purpose.

With Raven stamp:
I actually did make it into a postcard, but wish I hadn't, as it's pretty flimsy. Hope it makes it through the mail unbent. Now, I'm really wishing I had put the Raven stamp on the flips side and just addressed both sides, as the Raven stamp makes it look cluttered. Oh well. We'll see how they like it.

Another entry. My good 'ole dripping-blood theme.

Mixed it up a bit this time though, as I added fangs to the M and a "Vampire"-like monster (love how my eyes turned out). I think the black shading adds a lot too.

You can't tell, but I also poked holes where the fangs end on the paper.

Backside. (Eyes are just to cover up my address when I post on IG).

Some fun filters:

Block Metallic letters to Kate R.

This env. is similar to an upcoming one that is a Redo (for my IG challenge).

I love how this turned out and am happy with the idea. So simple to do for others. Love how my pointed pen turned out too.

I did one for Jean as well:

Flowers to Bridget

This was another practice one on a security env. but it didn't turn out too bad, and I got too ancy to send to Bridget. I also made a little matching insert.

I love how the stamp nearly looks like it's part of the design.
Originally planned to put the address in-between her names but decided to do at the top instead.
Bummed I messed up at the B (not my fault -- ink drops). Didn't know how to fix.

Insert says, "Flowers for You".

"eerie" to Denise (IG, Mojave Corr. Swap)

This month I was able to partake in the Mojave Corr. Club's env. swap (which is just to one person), and here is my env. to Denise:

The stamp didn't photograph well, but the color is actually purple. Goes so great with the green.
Kinda wish I had done her name in blackletter dripping, but oh well.

Backside.

Test piece where I wish her name would've turned out like this. Inspired by Janet's to me below:

B-day to Lynne S.

Used my metallics on black to Lynne (This idea is so versatile!)

I should have used the celebration stamp, but was going with the Halloween theme, so I used the Raven one.

Blood Drip to Thomas

 Another good go-to theme:

Although I like the ghost for the O, wish I hadn't made it so pointy, as it almost looks like an A. (grrr.)

Got this idea last minute! Wish I had done the E backwards.

A little batty to Chuck

Here's one from the Oct. PTEx

You can't see the stamp very well, but it's the bat one. Instead of matching the whole env. to that, I just did the one where the U should be for his name. (I hate that it looks like a W instead.)

Thought this saying perfect.

Metallics on black to Jean

I did a series of these based on some lettering from C Dubosch found on flickr (see below):

You can't see the stamp very well, but it's a Halloween one with the cat. So, I made the O look like a crescent moon. (as well as the dot above the i)

inspo.

insert I did a few years ago. Repeating script boo with bleach. I added a lot to it, as the original was just the script and some colors in the counters:

Before splatters.

Lighter in color.

Backside of env. Tried to emulate a cat I found on Pinterest.

Metallic Block letters to Janet

Metallic watercolors and pointed pen with white India ink.

Piece I did last year that I decided to send to Janet.

Pumpkin Spice to Janet

And yet another one of my "infamous" magazine envelopes....

Had this saved from a few years ago, and thought it perfect for Pumpkin Season ("A Touch of Spice"). At first, I didn't know what stamp to use with it, then I thought the coffee one would go pretty well (except for the colors) -- get it? PSL?

And then I did an insert to match:

Redos (Metallic block lettering)

These next few env.'s came about from my 100 Days of Redos on IG

See the sample from Pinterest below. This one turned out much better. I still could make it fall/Halloween themed, but for my redo, I wanted to keep it simple.

I first did this original a few years ago and thought it'd be fun to incorporate the "K" stamp into her name. It was during October, and wanted to do a Halloween theme, but I absolutely abhor my lettering! i was so happy when I figured out a good way to redo it.

Pinspo! (I believe the lettering is by Carol DuBosh.)

There are others I did in a take off on this. Search blog under black envelopes.
