Pratikpen (scroll)

Was experimenting with this rarely used tool and my white ink and.... very happy with the results!

it's just a mini env. but cannot wait to re-create for a bigger one.

a bit wrinkly but that's ok.

Abstract flower to Michelle (bday SMC)

For this one, I tried to match the card below (i bought in Galena, IL) however, it didn't turn out (I probably should have used crayon pastels and a rubbing.)

However, I still love the flower!

Alpha garden letters on the back.

bday design to Natalie (SMC)

for this one, I tried matching the design on the card I created years ago.

I then lettered various b-day wishes within the design.

Did the same with the insert, as "Hello" was what I had lettered on there first.

Neg. space blk env. to Maggie

I think I came up with this idea from not only my black journal pages but this piece I did a while ago: https://foldedpenfan.blogspot.com/2023/03/healing-piece.html
I thought it be fun to decorate an env. in this manner.

The bottom layer of words: Love, Joy, Happiness and Peace with the 2nd P in Happiness used for Peace and a ligature for the i and n.
I then used color pencils (trying my best to outline each letter) and added another layer of words in script (metallic ink):  the Spanish equivalents (Love: Amor, Joy: Alegria, Happiness: Felicidad and Peace: Armonia)
I THEN added a final layer facing the opposite way of the English words again.

This is for my journal page, but you can see how I first did the base lettering in Neuland with a Parallel pen in black ink.

For my journal page, I added the script lettering 2nd before adding color.

I erased some of the white as it seemed like too much.

I think it looks better and I like the effect of the "toned-down" white.

For a final touch, I added some words with a black glaze gel pen in the black spots:

Bday/ Vday to Dominique

Dominique shares her bday with my youngest so I thought that was a bit fun.
Because they're both so close to Vday, I decided to do a combo theme for her.

This was a failed lettering piece so I converted! (I cannot remember what I wrote in the t space area but I'm sure it was bday related.)

Before. It's the word, "romantic" and I then added, "Live a" and "Life" to create a quote.

Live a Romantic Life full of Love.

Happy 2026 to Karen

I'm so upset as I messed up this card. (ink mishap -- waaaaa!)

I had made the card a few years ago and had no idea a splotch of black ink got smeared on it (when will I learn to be more careful!) so I tried my best to make it look purposeful.

Name on clear env.

w/c card. Early V-day!

Inside: New year wishes. (pp)

bday to Rachelle (SMC)

I signed up for the SMC monthly bday list, as I was SO blessed to get so many bday env.'s in early Dec. for my bday that I want to do so for others.

This is rather plain (I may add color to it, but also, I like the plainness of it).  Decided to do her name in a mixture of fonts/hands.

I did add color to the back and a fun design with "happy BIRTHDAY" also added in pp and K Caps.

And a fun HB letter with her name in pp.

Elf to my oldest

A bit of a different take on the Elf theme!

Last year, when attending Julie W.'s online holiday party, I sketched out my son's name, trying to be creative with the A and I noticed that it resembled an elf foot (shoe). So, I knew I'd be doing something similar for him with it this C'mas!

Love how I could make the X match too.

The env. started out as just a design and I thought I'd just add a name but nothing fancy. But his name could be bigger as a design itself. I also planned to do a matching insert using the same design as the env. but then I incorporated the Buddy the Elf theme (again, using the legs in the lettering).

And I had to get "funny" on the back!

Hoping he gets a good laugh from it.  😄😆

Fall-themed (Late fall?) to Lina

This env. is also inspired by my L. Doctor class ( https://foldedpenfan.blogspot.com/2025/07/day-4-speak-to-me-patterns.html ). I have such fun with this idea!

I love how her named turned out (although a bit hard to read) -- altered Killian Caps!

with stamp

I first lettered an original poem ("As Summer Fades...") using metallic ink and a pp, added more autumn quotes then added more lettering with Sepia India ink (ruling pen), and then did a wash with my Ferris Wheel Press ink (Stroke of Midnight).

I pasted a small 3d leaf to oppose the masked out one.

Added another 3d leaf on the back. (it's so dark !

i tried to lighten it a little so you could see the lettering ("autumn")

I wanted to use these same colors (as in the class), but am now afraid it looks more like winter. (however, I sent in November and winter is coming up!)
