Another Bike to Amy

Last bike themed one for this year!

Amy got a 2nd bike theme one from me, as I wasn't quite finished with my (little cyclist) ideas.

Used her name as the "road" for my little cyclists.
Kinda hard to tell, but this one is going up.

And then down.

Mag. to Amy (Bike)

I don't really do that many magazine page env.'s any more, but I still have a few left. So I sent this one to Amy for Bike Month.

You can barely tell, but I used the spokes to create her name (on the front and back)

Sent this enclosure since the env. was rather meh.

Then, there was a tire on the back too, so I used metallic ink to try and make her name stand out.
I thought it perfect.  :)

Bike themed to Skip (Jean's son)

Jean put her son on the list for May and listed some of his interests, one of which is mountain biking!

So, of course, how perfect to do a bike themed envie for him.

At first, I was going to do similar to Susan's (using a slanted S for the road like hers), but went with this idea instead.

Bike to Susan

Totally forgot to post this for bike month in May!

Got this idea after starting the purple one for her (below). I found it such a fun idea.

Used the 2nd S in her name for the road. (My little biker needs some work though!)  ;D

Original.

Bike Month!

For the March Snail Mail Collective Exchange (IG), the theme was handmade envelopes. Been making my own env.'s for decades, and decided to go with this bike themed one I already had on hand.

Magazine page. Not diggin' how her name turned out.

with a smaller env. and card insert (so I could do her name nice)

Card is a name flower.

Close up. Says "hello sady".

With letter I enclosed.

close up of another word flower:  "hello spring".

And her name in Alpha Garden Letters.

Bike theme to Nele

I can't believe I forgot to take a final pic of this env. (grrrr.)
I'm sure I used the pink mum stamp, as that probably matched best.

Sent to Nele for Bike Month. It's a take off of a painting I saw years ago online, in which I tried to emulate. (Reminiscent of Tour de France)

Created this insert to match. (Can you see the 3d "wheels"?)
RW & puff paint.

Was so proud of my italic lettering, but wish I had spaced the author name better.

It's Bike Month!

2 more magazine pages (my last for a while, maybe!)

kinda wanted to do the address wrapped around the road as well, but am leery of making the po mad (and want to avoid the extra postage)

Close-up of a bike frame. Not happy with his name.
Zig Fudebiyori brush lettering.

both.

po is po'd!

I shared this as a story on IG, and have to share here as well, as I found it rather funny, as well as a lesson learned.

I'm doing a series of "Mail to Myself", just for fun, so for Bike Month, decided to make on of my wrapping paper env.'s to me.

Thought it fun how it turned out, and although I think the address is fairly readable, I don't think the po thought so:

I had to laugh at how they marked up the whole env.! Maybe it's b/c the address is in a circle, and that requires extra postage??? but from now on, I will make sure to 1) leave plenty of white space and 2) write the address in a more linear manner. #lessonlearned

Bike to Jean

I love how well this one turned out! Had no idea how I would letter it, then got out my Zig metallic brush pen and it went so well with the lovely heart stamp!

Although it would have been fun to do the address within the shape of the road, I like how I did it.

Bike wrapping paper

Did a few more with my bike-themed wrapping paper:

I should have done her name in a different color (light blue?), with no outline.  😕

Don't like how her name turned out. I have trouble with her name b/c of the double g's.

Bike theme to Lynne

I'm growing tired of my magazine page envelopes, but I had to send this one, as I love the design so much! Fun near-primary colors too.

And you can't beat how well the heart stamp goes!

Cool backside design as well.

I just hope the recipients like them!

Bike Theme to Kate

Fun one with the 2 bikes. (Magazine Page)

I love how my garage sale sticker fit SO perfectly in the red circle design already on the page!
And how well the heart stamp goes with it too.

Another area for a garage sale dot. How fun.

Bike Month!

Bike Envies for this year (see separate posts for each):

3 magazine pages and 1 wrapping paper.

Bday to Shannon

Sent 2 cards: regular one, and a postcard.

Repurposed env. as it had another name on it. Tried to make a design over it, but didn't turn out to my liking. But I do love the bright liveliness to it!
Used stickers for her name, which I hope she enjoys. 3d elements too (paper and gems)

An old card I've had forever, as I love the embossing. Finally decided to part with. But first, I added neon colors (to kind of match the env.)

Back of env.

Postcard. Forgot to take pic of back with separation border.
This started out as a bike using my ruling Writer, but I trie to turn into a festive design.
Added a gold painted wood circle and the Celebrate on torn paper.

Bikes to Shannon

It's Bike Month, so you know what that means! Yep...my bicycle-themed envelopes!

Here are a few I sent to Shannon to start:

I cannot remember what I did for an insert, but I'm sure it was just something insignificant, just to help sturdy the env. Magazine page.

My "infamous" bike wrapping paper and heart stamp!
Bnib style lettering.

Insert.

Back flap.

Bicycle Postcards

These are pieces I created about 3 years ago (see below) and decided to make them into postcards:

For one I used neon acrylic paints, and the other is a mix of blended color pencils and watercolors. Both on wc paper.

Quote: "Whoever invented the bicycle deserves a thanks of humanity." - Lord Charles Beresford.

Before pieces:

These 2 experiments are inspired from something I saw either online or in a magazine (can't remember where!) -- was trying to use negative space for the bike. Lighter one is watercolors and bottom is pastels.

Bike Mail to myself

I love this next one, but 1) I had other ideas and 2) knew I wouldn't be able to recreate on my own (vs. computer), so I just printed off the image (again, Pinterest!) and made an env. from that, addressed to me:

Didn't send, but love it.

Bike Month!

More bicycle-themed envelopes for this year:

Before:  Magazine pages

After, addressed. Love how I did the red then yellow and blues, plus the black outline. Fun with stamp too. Glad I thought to do her name in a fun way.

After, addressed. (Used perm. red marker) Not liking how I did Chuck's name. Wish I could go back and redo.

Before adding stamp. Love how the name turned out.

up close, as I did more embossing and debossing. (Can you see?)

Added color w/in the text and more em/debossing (can you see?) It was a fun envelope!

w/stamp & insert

With insert.

I must say, I LOVE this insert! It was just a test piece and I'm so happy with how it turned out.

Then I tried to make bigger to hang in my house, but it didn't work,.
