Teal name on Pink to Maggie

I forgot to sign up for the PTEx in August, so I decided to send one to Maggie, as it's been a while since I've exchanged with her.

Don't like my stamp placement (didn't gauge out the lettering very well). I should have placed it lower under the e. (grrrr.)
Matches so pretty though!

I always find her name challenging to do (with the double g's), so I tried to dupe this practice piece:

I like the practice piece better.  😕
Used my Hiro poster nib.

"hello" on letter was tricky with my white Ziller ink.

again, practice sheet much better. (walnut ink)

faux "Luthis" to Sharon

I cannot find this on my blog, so I don't think I've shared it yet.

I did a bunch of env.'s last year with my Luthis-copy pen and this was one. I think I used my neon pink acrylic ink to make a bright orange color on the env. (looked much better in-person)

And I included this insert, as it was the end of summer.

Decorated red (P&I)

I know I posted these on my Folded Pen blog ( https://foldedpenfan.blogspot.com/2021/08/post-6-snail-mail-p.html ) but have yet to share here.

Just a fun matching decorated set. Horizon folded pen, filled in with color pencil (teal, white & yellow). All I need is a yellow stamp and someone to send to!

Watercolor "blocking"

The insert is a re-creation of my original I did for my 100 Days of Redos in 2021:

I then tried to make the env. to match. (Got luck with the stamp! -- the colors)

Thank You to Janet

I cannot remember if I already shared this, but it's a little (mini) thank you I sent in another env. (I just can't remember which one!)

Love how it matches, and how it turned out.
Used my new Brody pen. Card was already made.
Used a 3d gem for the dot on her i to match the one on the card!

"Life is Better..." to Janet

This alpha is an altered version of something I found on Pinterest. It's reminiscent of Carolingian and kinda fun. Something different.

So I lettered this quote for Janet, and did the env. to match (I also did one for Nele -- will update to link when I mail hers.)

Mixed inks. C nib

I also sent a collage, as I had cardstock to match!

Used my new Brody pen for the lettering!

Updated the collage with outlines, as it was missing something.

Better.  :)

Ducks to Jean R.

This is another one of the pre-printed env.'s I got from Vanness:

And another where I used the thick/thin B-nib alpha style like Lynne's (and Lina's -- https://snailmailingmadness.blogspot.com/2023/07/dr-suess-to-lina.html
I used a paint marker for the name, to look a bit whimsical. Stamped color matched perfectly!

Care Cards

(*I didn't know where to post these...here or on my fp blog. I chose here, since they go better with snail mail.)

I did a batch of these in Dec. 2018 for Cmas. I've wanted to do more, but I'm not good at making cards (mostly b/c I lack patience with the assembly process).
But recently on IG, I saw a post from Cards for Kindness, requesting inspiration/motivational ones, so I started making some (as they gave ideas for what to letter), then my creativity took over!

Did 17 in total. Hoping to make more, as I had so much fun.

Layered uncial with pp on top. Have done this layout previously.

This was a big card (5.5 x 8.5)
Used my big homemade "Luthis" folded pen. (walnut ink and drop-in colors)

I LOVE how this turned out (except my lettering above got too tight -- the "being").

Was pleased with this one too.

This one's ok. Looks too celebratory. Wish I had kept off the exclamation.

I love this simple one.

I like this one, but not the ink for "amazing". Wish I had used blue for all the letters.

I like this one (fun!), but I messed up the design. (grrrr.)

I messed up "inspiring", but it's not bad!

I had fun with these designs on the colored paper (color pencil and puff paint).

I'm so mad as I messed up this one, in 2 places. First, the r in "your" and then the R in Courage. (Got the idea for the flourish after lettering.) So, I tried fixing. I decided to send anyway.
I could add splatters, but that might be too much.

THEN, I started doing collages! So pretty and fun.

They look much in-person.

This is so pretty (b/c colors match so well), but I don't like how I added the lettering on separate sheets. However, I had to, as the handmade paper is WAY too porous.

There's a better sample below.

Love this one too, but the more I look at the word, the more I think I spelled it wrong. Prob. b/c of the ligature.

Happy with this one, but just wish I could letter directly on the card.
*Also, I got the idea to adhere plain white paper inside the card, to make it easier to write on!
(so proud of myself!)

Last one. Again, so much prettier in-person.

3d puff paint. So easy -- def. gonna make more of this style.
