Canvas env. Fail.

If you venture over to my other blog ("lovemesomeart.blogspot.com"), you'll see that I have done a few acrylic paintings (which, I enjoy, aside from the mess and clean-up, and how time-consuming it can be! 😄)

Anyway, I have a few failed paintings that I've held on to, as I love parts of them (usually the background), and have always wondered what I could do with them.

Well, I finally decided to try and make a few into envelopes! So, I cut out the one below (tried to do the 4 seasons) and it seemed to fold rather well.

You can see it's canvas from the inside. Folded pretty easily.

Original painting I tried lettering on with a folded pen (fail!), but I love how the "summery" background turned out.

Here is it cut out.

Folded backside.

Addressed, which was hard to letter on. I had no idea how to letter it, so I used a pink sharpie (thought that would go well with the summer feel), but I didn't like it. Used a small sharpie for the address, but still tricky, b/c of the texture.

The reason I couldn't send was b/c the stamp would not stay attached. I thought about roughing up the paint part underneath, but who knows if that would work, as it might not adhere to the plain canvas itself even. SO, I decided to send to Janet anyway, but inside another env. (see upcoming post, "Repurposed Red to Janet")
