PenPalentine 3 to Vanessa (IG)

I absolutely LOVE how this one turned out.

Posca pen expressive lettering.

Tried to base the L off V, as the V was a bit of a happy accident.

This could have been better, but sent as is (except I erased the pencil lines!) 😊

Flower Hearts to Karen (PenPalentine 2, IG)

2nd PenPalentine
Had fun with this one too! Hope she can see her name clearly, as I know some people can get "critical" of expressive lettering (i.e., "can't read it!")

Did an insert to match (or rather, did her name to match the insert). Used my slant tip Parallel.
Proud of this one!

3d to Julie (PenPalentine 1, IG)

Signed up for a PenPalentine exchange on IG! Had so much fun with my creations.
(Assigned 4 people, but I also sent Thank You's to the organizers/hosts.)

3d lettering and design.
See my inspo on FP blog: https://foldedpenfan.blogspot.com/2024/01/squiggly-lines-from-class.html

Funny how at first I loved this, but am now like, "eh". 😕
Plus, I messed up the J.

I am, however, proud of my insert! Hope she likes.

Close-ups.

Backside

Full pic of insert. This is a copy from my original (see above; FP blog)
3d design (puff paint) and pointed pen.
Spacing a bit too close.

Gregory Hines stamp

I originally posted this in 2019 on my old blog, but for Black History Month, am posting here.

In looking through postage stamps that year, I came upon this one of Gregory Hines. I had to post about it, because I was able to "meet" him in March of 1997.

It was at MacWorld in San Fran (fave city!). I used to work for a small software company, and that year, was able to go to the conference. As I was working our booth, he walked by, and then came up to me asking about our product. I went to fill the form and trying to be "funny", I said, "Name?" (turning to my co-workers with a Cmas Story Ralphie grin/laugh), and he just smiled and said, "I can fill it out."

I was trying to play it cool, but my boss made a fuss about him (for which I'm now grateful! 😄) and said, "Oh we need a picture!! We need a picture!" (maybe she meant for publicity for our product!) Either way, I'm glad she took it!

RIP, Gregory.

"Love" to Leslie Nava

I need to get the hang of using my gel pens and Posca markers, as they always seem to streak.

Matched her name to the stamp, with some contrasting accents.

Close up of the i. I didn't like how it was turning out with the orange, so I cut out a piece of astrobrights paper. Hope it stayed on!

Did matching insert, but not liking the orange colors.

Decorative to Chuck ("get well")

Sent this to Chuck as a little "Get Well" env. to hopefully brighten his day
(recovering from surgery in Dec.)

It was pre-decorated, and this stamp matched the best. Used a Posca pen for his name.

Decorated the back too. Pointed pen for return address.

abstract to Amy (mini)

Again, forgot to take a before pic.  😕

Trial piece with the word, "wonder". Made into a mini env. (3x5) and colors to match the stamp.

Then, did a short letter the same width as env. and tri-folded it.
