SMC Envies (Aug)

Here are a few env.'s sent out this month to the Aug. SMC participants:

This was actually a salvaged env (a Cmas fail) in which the uncial R was already on it. I had saved b/c I was going to cover it up somehow, but instead, i got the idea to do her name using my other markers. I had fun with it, and hope she likes!

Here are the others (the top 2 didn't turn out, so I won't post those separately).

Peace to Lina (Aug)

Up to this point, I haven't tried matching the lettering to the stamp with these button ones, so I tried with Lina's and not bad! (I just wish I had done the A in the light blue color, but I wasn't thinking.  :(

I also forgot to erase the white before taking a pic.

Purple collage to Nanski

Similar to the one to Jean ( https://snailmailingmadness.blogspot.com/2025/07/collage-to-jean-july-ptex.html ) I did one for Nanski, but with her name.

I wrote her name big with puff paint, then connecting caps i the middle (clear Glaze gel pen), and on the side in various hands (metallic ink)

PP uncial for the blue name.

Brody Letters

At times, I use the abstract lettering of Brody N, and for this month, I decided to do so for a couple of env.'s.

For this one, I first used my white Callipen, but then had to outline with a pp.

On Jean's, same as above, but no need for outlining. I was tempted to add more coloring, but also didn't want to over do, so I kept it simple with just a few added touches to match the stamp.

Words w/in letters

This was rather simple, as I used a Posca pen for the name. I got the idea to do lettering w/in some of the letters from Laurie D.'s class (semi-collage looking)

I tried to pen Viktor Frankl's quote, "No man should judge...".

It all looks more St. Patty's day/ Irish, but I still like it!

"Collage" to Jean (July PTEx)

This env. is inspired by my Laurie Doctor class, "Speak to Me...", as I love this collage "technique".

I loved matching the colors to the stamp, as that made the design easier. (I also added "Have" to the stamp so it would read, "Have Fun". Then below that , "Keep Creating!")

Before pic. You can see where i penned, "Creativity" on the left, then filled in with watercolor. In the middle column, I used metallic ink and wrote some quotes about art and creating, and colored over with teal. Then for the Right Column, I wrote out "art attack" in brush lettering and added more words in-between the letters.

I had fun with it and love how it turned out. I also did another one similar to this that i'll post later!
