Clear Beach umbrella to Lynne (June PTEx)

I LOVE these new "Day at the Beach" stamps! (they make me want to travel!)

For Lynne's, I painstakingly cut out papers to match the umbrella on the stamp.

I used tissue paper for the water on a w/c card. Then a vellum env.

Finished piece. Although flawed, i was so proud of how it turned out.

B-day to Irene (June)

Tried matching the stamp and hope she saw that! Also, how apt for Pride month!

Did my border bday card too. (this time with my Horizon nib, not pp)

I could have matched the env. (with Happy) but wanted to letter vs. draw the word.

And I just had to share what Irene wrote to me in an email!

This was the BEST compliment as love Julie's work!! Made my day. (Thx again Irene!)

"Sandcastle" name to Dominique

I wish there was a computer-generated way (or some kind of font) that would make a name like a sandcastle. Although I'm creative, I'm not great at drawing anymore and/or 3d lettering. But what a cool idea, huh? (regardless of the stamp!)

I tried my best though. If I had more time, I would have redone and tried to plan out better. But Dominique is my "writing" pen pal, not lettering so I'm sure she enjoys any decorative env. I send her way.

I would definitely add more definition and darker browns. And maybe the sand pail and shovel too.

Beach waves name to Sharen (June PTEx)

Tried to incorporate the stamp but didn't plan it out too well. A for effort.

Used my idea for waves name and tried my best to draw the post for the pelican. (it's to the right of the bird where I messed up.

Tried to fix it but was worried I'd ruin the stamp.

Simple varied names to Jessica (June PTEx)

Again, didn't get very creative with the stamp but love how I did the name.

Sometimes, simple is best.

"Drawn" Romans to Jean

I've always wanted to do these type of Roman letters (mostly see them drawn in color pencil) so I tried for this one but I used fountain pen ink and it smeared.  :(    SO, I tried to cover up by outlining in gold. (however, I LOVE the ink!)

I didn't get too creative with the stamp other than matching colors.

close up of sparkles. FWP!

split nib for the rest of the name.

Connected Letters to Nele

It's been a bit of struggle sending to Nele lately, as she is always taking classes and sending me something she did as homework, whereas I feel like I've used up all my alphas and hands I know.
This time, I did some connected letters using my Horizon folded nib.

The env. says, "hello nele" for the pp border in white, and again down the center in blue. And then I wrote hello in various languages in-between with a glaze gel and block lettering.

I hate having to use 2 stamps but with the letter and various items enclosed, I want to make sure I have enough postage.

love these glaze pens

Similar piece i did for the insert:
It says, "just start" for the script border and down the middle with the connected letters.
I then wrote asemic lettering in-between.

On the Right side, I lettered quotes about starting, procrastination, etc.

june to Lina (floral)

I've been sending Lina envelopes for over 6 years and at times, I run out of ways to letter her name! So, I tried to emulate a cutesy cursive alpha I found online.

pp and matching colors to env.

and then, flowers on the flip (again, trying to match the stamp)

"Spring" colors...

For these env.'s (sent in early May), I used spring-like colors and kept it rather simple with just their names.

"Roman-esque" type letters and India inks

my markers!

I'm having fun with this style of lettering (not sure what you'd call it -- pp elongated foundational??)
