Neg. space blk env. to Maggie

I think I came up with this idea from not only my black journal pages but this piece I did a while ago: https://foldedpenfan.blogspot.com/2023/03/healing-piece.html
I thought it be fun to decorate an env. in this manner.

The bottom layer of words: Love, Joy, Happiness and Peace with the 2nd P in Happiness used for Peace and a ligature for the i and n.
I then used color pencils (trying my best to outline each letter) and added another layer of words in script (metallic ink):  the Spanish equivalents (Love: Amor, Joy: Alegria, Happiness: Felicidad and Peace: Armonia)
I THEN added a final layer facing the opposite way of the English words again.

This is for my journal page, but you can see how I first did the base lettering in Neuland with a Parallel pen in black ink.

For my journal page, I added the script lettering 2nd before adding color.

I erased some of the white as it seemed like too much.

I think it looks better and I like the effect of the "toned-down" white.

For a final touch, I added some words with a black glaze gel pen in the black spots:

Snowflakes (WCC year-long callig exchange, Feb.)

I'm so happy to be back on a CALLIG env. exchange (although I have yet to receive my first one.)
This one went out last month but I'm posting today because we're getting some snow! (Let's hope it's the last round for the year. But who knows...)

Used my automatic pen and white India ink but had to outline with metallic ink and then added some 3d silver snowflakes (that are probably decades old!)

Trying to decide which snowflake stamp would work the best.

*I also got a lovely email from Heidi:
I love feedback like this, knowing I made someone's day!

b&w on brown craft to Leanne

In Feb, I got a lot of random Vday cards and i LOVED it!!! (feelin' the love!!!) Leanne was one of them. I hadn't heard from her in a while and she was feeling a bit down with the state of our country (as was I) so I tried to be encouraging, hoping I'd be able to help her find a way back to her art (which i did! Yay!)

Used various broad-edged tools for her name. I always love b&w on brown.

Birdies to Lina

Sent this postcard to Lina this month as I re-created some w/c birdies from a few years ago (found on Pinterest -- see below).

Spring is near!

Not quite the same but still cute. Hope she likes.

could easily work well as an env. design too with name above and address below
