Freebies

So, my oldest got on a donation kick, and now, he's getting all these things in the mail (items similar to ones I've received in the past:  return address labels, notepads, cards & envies).

And lucky me, since he has no need for them, asked if I wanted!

These ones are actually lovely. They each have little sayings under them that go with the theme. And the envelopes are of good quality! 💓

Kindness w/c to Kate

I've been slowly giving away some older pieces I created (turning them into inserts) and I decided to match Kate's env. this month to the Kindness one I did in 2020. (see FP Blog: https://foldedpenfan.blogspot.com/2021/11/tpwk.html )

Not really liking how it turned out, but I was trying to match the stamp. *You can see how it sorta matches on the very right, after the y. (And, of course, I cannot find a final pic of it with the stamp!  :(   I swore I took one.) Anyway, here's the stamp:

Wish I had gotten more creative with it, as I could have matched it even more (but I was just going for color matching).

Postal Museum! (DC)

My family and I just got back from a week-long stay in DC. While there, we happened upon the National Postal Museum!

It was near Union Station (not far from our hotel), and knowing what a snail mail fanatic I am, they obliged me with a little trip (between monuments/memorials and other noteworthy museums).  😁

I gotta say though, although I was bit excited, it turned out to be a little "less-than". 😕 But still a little fun.

Various mailboxes

hanging stamps

Not sure the purpose of this, as it was just an email with your digital collection.

kinda cool -- got a close up.

Various methods of mail delivery.

Video, inside of train.

And finally the shop (which REALLY turned out to be disappointing). I was expecting more fun novelty items. Oh well.
There was a post office connected to the museum, so I was able to mail out some postcards, as well as mail to myself!

Anyway, just for fun!

Bday to Hope (SMC, IG)

And...another b-day border envie!

I signed up for the Apr. Bdays on IG (Snail Mail Collective)
and sent this to one of those on my list.

I decorated the envelope by writing "happy birthday" and "Celebrate" over and over, around the border, and added colors to match the stamp.

Used her name as a little "pun" on the letter.

Tried to match the letter a bit, but I don't like how it turned out.

back side.

Also included this little name flower insert. ("hello hope")

Bday to Kate Riley (June)

Another border envelope!

This one was a mess-up, as I didn't like how the name turned out in pp uncial, so I redid over in tall pp uncial (which I DID like, AND wish I had done that way in the first place). I plan to do a whole alpha this way.

pretty pink to Jean (WCD!)

This month for PTEx, Jean gave us her full name, so I did my border lettering on her env.

I kinda wanted to add color to both borders, but also, I liked them as is. However, the right side was "calling" to me, so I added some white.

I also like the stamp placement (happy accident!)  😉

Before adding color.

And it's World Calligraphy Day! So I made this insert for her.

Bday to Clara (SMC)

another Snail Mail Collective bday envie.

*used a red dove Love stamp on this, but forgot to take a pic

Did a "matching letter w/her name as the border.

Embossed to Jean

happy little accident here!
Jean gave out her middle name again for July's PTEx, so I lettered it above her embossed last name.
However, it's a small env., and I forgot to allow for proper spacing of the stamp, so it went below by the last name. BUT how perfect! Almost as if it was planned that way! (as noted by Jean too -- sometimes "fun" to get her "approval". 😉😁)

Bummed the purples didn't quite match -- grrrr. I tried!
Should have added a green dot for the i above Wilson. (double grrrr.)

Bday to Brandon (SMC)

And yet another Snail Mail Collective bday env.
I love the simplicity of this.
Because the metallic env. was shiny paper, I used a
metallic Zig fudebiyori brush marker. PP lettering around the edges.

"puppet" to Amy

I had this leftover puppet quote, so I decided to make a puppet env. for Amy (similar to the one I did for Nele: https://snailmailingmadness.blogspot.com/2023/06/puppet-quote-to-nele.html )

Made a matching "hello" card too.

and did her address similar on the back!
