Thanks to Janet

Janet gave me a packet of fun colorful envelopes, so I sent her a TY.

Tried using my white ink, but too light. So I outlined with puff paint, and filled in with color to match card. (Tried getting a tie-dye effect.)

Used my masking fluid so I could try and dupe a store-bought card, but didn't turn out very well. (Tricky to use with my folded pens.)

Although you know how much I love hand lettering (esp. names), sometimes stickers are fun!

These are some old ones I've had for years I originally bought for scrapbooking. Since they're nice and lively, I decided to use for her bday.

Insert to somewhat match.

May PTEx to Sharon (uncial)

Bright green to Sharon with uncial.

Tried making circles to match stamp. Wish I had used a pretty flower instead.

Did a fun env. to match.

 

Baseball to Ben (PTEx May)

Jean put her grandson's name in lieu of hers this month. He is a big White Sox fan, so I looked up baseball themed env.'s and found one that was actually stitched! (so cool!)

But I made mine 3d instead.

Kinda wish I had made it smaller vs long.

Did a letter to match. 

Was a bit tricky with the puff paint, but not too bad!

I wanted to do the address in a curve like the name, but was afraid of it getting marked up.

Got a little creative on the back too.

Tulips to Janet

I had this paper from some art magazine, and 1) not only is it pretty, but 2) plenty of white space for addressing and 3) not flimsy!

I had planned to send to her last year for Tulip Time, but forgot. Then, for some reason, I didn't want to write on it, as I was afraid I'd ruin it. But this year, I took the chance!

perm. marker for the name, with some gold glitter.

Gel markers on Black (Shannon)

Tried matching stamp color with my Crayola gel markers and metallic watercolors.

Not bad italic!

And just for fun, another gel marker on black, to Zoe:

Another converted env. from a practice sheet.

It looks a bit Christmas-y, but the fun stamp went perfectly, to hopefully counter that!

Black mixed to Janet (creative letter)

Creating all my P&I contest entries inspired me to do a letter to Janet the same!

Used my Sakura gold callig marker and extra fine pt pink Posca pen

I did the "Greetings" the same as her name (alternating) and cut out to paste on a diff. sheet for the letter. (My script writing didn't turn out very well though, as I got in a hurry -- per usual.)

So, not only was one of my entries chosen, but.... they created an additional category as well (just for moi)!

This entry of mine was actually a last minute idea, so how fateful it was selected! 🙌

I'd love to know their thought process, however, i'm choosing to believe it's unique and lovely b/c of my expressive abstract nature, and the contrast of the foundational and script lettering. 😁😁

When I get my goodies, I'll post what all I won. SO excited! Yay for me!
