First env. to Nele (Cmas)

Thank you to my first (but hopefully not only!) blog follower! My new mail-art friend, Nele. (I've been sketching away at ideas for envelopes to send!)

This is an example of how things go for me: I'll make a sketch and it looks "great" then when I go to create it, does not turn out as I envisioned (this is discussed in one of my favorite books, Art & Fear). So frustrating, but also, funny to read this, knowing I'm not "alone"! So, anyway, I've also uploaded the sketch for this (obviously bigger, as it was a true thumbnail).

I wanted to do it in pencil (as I love sketched/drawn letters), but my mech. pencil has a much sharper tip than my color ones. Hope she still enjoys it!

 

Cmas Misc, Decorated Trees

Been adding trees to my envelopes lately, and decided to make cards to match. 

Plan to use as Thank You's.

This one looks like glue, but it's not! Not sure I like.

Found some old 3d glue (wish they still made it), so tried making one using that. Did not turn out.

Fiddling with my chisel markers. (inspired by ruling writer)

Was just playing around with my markers. Added 3d metallic stickers and glitter glue. 

2018 Family Cmas Cards

Here is a sampling of the envelopes I sent out this year. Rodish and Paulson are my faves, as I always have trouble with Feldt, no matter what type of lettering I use.

I also wanted to do some sort of design on them, but they are going out late (was late in taking my boys pic this year).  :/  (plus, I forgot -- the design) Maybe next year!

 

So This is Christmas...

I got this idea when I first saw the Lennon stamps earlier in November (to use the sheet music of "Happy Christmas"), but of course, when I went to create it, it wasn't working out. (It would also help if i had decent sheet music to use.)

Finally, it sort of came together and I decided to use the design/idea of something similar I saw on Pinterest: coloring in circles. They reminded me of ornaments, so how fitting, huh? (am wondering though if the other color dots are too much?)

I hope it reaches her ok! Not sure because of how I addressed it (maybe I should have used a different/brighter color?) Also, I used a "Peace" Cmas seal stamp/sticker on the back. (forgot to take pic) Again, pretty fitting!

Can't wait to create my other ideas with using these stamps!

Dec. b-day to Lauren

This is one of  those pieces where i loved it at first, but now looking bad, i wrinkle my nose.

Still kinda fun though.

Used my callig marker and foundational (altered).  I think I used "The Snowy Day" stamp.

Got the idea of magazine env.'s while flipping through a few!

Hate that they're flimsy and slick, but very fun.

The top gingerbread one is perfect for my hubby, as he loves gingersnap cookies!
